Last Saturday one of my favorite singers passed away - Ibrahim Ferrer. He had the voice of an angel. He was the Cuban Nat King Cole. I listen to his CDs at work all day long. If you haven't seen the documentary film The Buena Vista Social Club you really should rent it. The story of this group of musicians will really touch your heart and will make you believe that it is never too late!

God bless you Ibrahim. I know heaven welcomed you with open arms

I have to work this afternoon so I really don't have much to say today except ENJOY YOUR DAY wherever you are, whether it be with family, friends or just alone in your room. ENJOY!

Every now and then it will stop and ask you if you want to subscribe or keep listening free with commercials. Your choice! HEY! AM I GETTING PAID FOR THIS??

Beloved

Webster's Dictionary defines the word Beloved this way, "Dearly loved; adored." This is one of my favorite words. I love to hear Ayanla VanZandt address people this way. It changes the way you feel about yourself and about the person who addresses you this way. It makes you say to yourself, "Hey! I'm special and you think I'm special!" It calms you.

It is amazing how much power one word can have. We all know about the bad words and how they can just break us down and cause us to lash out and sometimes just spoil our whole day. Silence can also cause a negative feeling in us. Just say good morning to someone when you pass them and receive no reply. We take offense to this and feel that the person who wasn't kind enough to respond must dislike us or is just a rude. When it could be quite the contrary.

Silence isn't always golden either. Maybe there is a friend or relative you haven't communicated with in a long time. Not realizing that you are causing this person pain you just go about your daily lives never thinking of just picking up the phone one day or sending an email or even a post card to say hey! I'm thinking about you today and even though we don't talk every day I still love you. LOVE, now there's a powerful word. Today is the birthday of one of our most beloved entertainers - Billie Holiday. When we hear her sing we can hear the pain and anguish in her voice. Did anyone ever call her beloved? Did she ever really feel loved? She left us too soon.
